Lady in the Lamp

This is a lamp of a slender Female form.
I was asked to make this lamp for a client. She had a small sculpture of this form and wanted me to use this as inspiration for a lamp which stood five feet tall.

I started by drawing the form out on paper. Then I scaled it up from there. Transferring it onto sheet metal and developing the arms, honing and fettling to make sure every joint appeared seamless.

I Love this Image, it looks 20 feet tall!
From the first conversation about the piece to completion was in the region of 3 months.

My client was really happy with the outcome. I like the look as an honest worked steel finish.
